Painted Chocolates is a specialty shop that makes chocolates that fits your needs and wishes. We started making chocolates back in 1994. Painted Chocolates initially started as a hobby, making chocolates for friends and family. Through the years Painted Chocolates has matured, refined its recipient and has grown into a company that makes specialty orders and sells its chocolates locally and on-line. About Debbie Wilson. Debbie was born and grew up in the Valley just outside of Kentville. She is the second of six children, raised on a small three-acre farm, so the Buy Local issue is very important to her. She started to make Painted Chocolates for her father, whom had a special craving for chocolate that was not available locally. While looking for something to bring back to family and friends she found a couple chocolate molds and a book on chocolate making in the back of a small store in Port aux Basque on Canada Day. “ I started making chocolates for family and friends for special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's/Father's Day, etc. Since my father was the biggest chocoholic I would take my newest chocolate to him to test. People started telling me that I should be selling my chocolates and "they're too pretty to eat". I put chocolate dinosaurs and palm trees on my grandson's birthday cake; princesses with castles and carriages on my granddaughter's cake. I hope you enjoy eating my chocolates just as much as I enjoy making them for you”. Debbie Wilson
